Disgusting........

It's very disgusting to spend a day at work having to evade some of the biggest liars in the history of our country on the public airwaves and in the compliant media.

Today was particularly bad due to the Bernanke testimony in front of the grandstanding politicians on TV, Obama touting the ill effects of the sequester and bringing such alarm to every stooge and ill informed voter everywhere.

It started today with listening to the charlatan, Jim Cramer of Harvard and Goldman Sachs fame spouting the love for Bernanke himself.

Couldn't we just once get say, Jim Rogers or Dean Parisian to grill these clowns?

The beat goes on, there's smoke on the horizon.  The math of our problems is compounding at an exponential rate.

This is going to get good boys and girls.   To those of you in Mandaree and Pine Ridge I don't even know what to tell you.   Read more and expect fewer hand-outs I guess.  Is there anything you really want besides being on the government dole?

NIGER

When will it end for the military-industrial complex to quit paying campaign contributions to politicians?  These foreign entanglements need to quit.

The sooner the better.    Americans are dying for what again?

WTF DOJ ?

The DOJ is going after Lance Armstrong and not Jon Corzine?

It just gets goofier every day.

Bullshit of the highest order......

The magnitude of hubris, it's called bullshit where I grew up, from the Fed's Jim Bullard today was of the highest order.

Calling inflation at 1.4% in America today was the cat's meow.

They utilize the largest lie of all in not including food and energy prices in the inflation computation.   As if Americans don't eat nor transport themselves to and from work.

Gas prices up a month straight and inflation is 1.4%.  Sure Jim, sure.

Pitchforks anyone?

The $85 billion being pumped into the coffers of the big banks, every single month, a mere 4 or 5 months ago, was to try to DECREASE UNEMPLOYMENT!    Nothing has been accomplished folks, because job growth is averaging less than 100,000 per month and GDP growth slowing to 1%.   The BS of the Fed continues unabated.

The beat goes on.

Honesty and integrity you say?

From remarks by the Dick Fisher of the Dallas Fed:

  • The Fed has artificially sustained markets

Thank you for the admission, oh FOMC member. And to think just 4 years ago anyone accusing the Fed of using its "invisible hand" and doing everything in its power to solely focus on the stock market was labeled a "conspiracy theory" crackpot. One wonders what other "conspiracy theories" will be admitted by the Fed as fact in another four short years?

Sun, babes and big money in retirement...........

High pay and benefits for lifeguards in Newport Beach is the latest example of frustrating levels of compensation for public employees. More than half the city’s full-time lifeguards are paid a salary of over $100,000 and all but one of them collect more than $100,000 in total compensation including benefits.
When thinking about career options with high salaries, lifeguarding is probably not one of the first jobs to come to mind. But it apparently should. In one of Orange County’s most desirable beach destinations, Newport Beach, lifeguards are compensated all too well; especially compared with the county annual median household income of $71,735.
It might be time for a career change.
According to a city report on lifeguard pay for the calendar year 2010, of the 14 full-time lifeguards, 13 collected more than $120,000 in total compensation; one lifeguard collected $98,160.65. More than half the lifeguards collected more than $150,000 for 2010 with the two highest-paid collecting $211,451 and $203,481 in total compensation respectively. Even excluding benefits like health care and pension, more than half the lifeguards receive a total salary, including overtime pay, exceeding $100,000. And they also receive an annual allowance of $400 for “Sun Protection.” Many work four days a week, 10 hours a day.
Lifeguarding in Newport Beach is a pretty good gig, if you can get it.
There is no denying that lifeguards protect swimmers and play a vital safety role in protecting numerous beachgoers every year. In 2010, the total number of rescues by Newport Beach lifeguards was 2,190. Even so, these salaries seem too generous, and the compensation levels don’t appear fiscally sane.
Currently, Newport Beach has 13 full-time active lifeguards and hires about 210 seasonal and part-time “tower” guards, Newport Beach City Manager David Kiff told us. Lifeguards are organized as part of the fire department. The Lifeguard Management Association represents the 13 full-time, salaried employees in collective bargaining with the city whereas the Association of Newport Beach Ocean Lifeguards represents the part-time, seasonal lifeguards.
See our letters to the editor: “Lifeguards are riding a profitable wave”
In a phone conversation, Brent Jacobsen, president of the Lifeguard Management Association, defended the lifeguard pay in Newport Beach: “We have negotiated very fair and very reasonable salaries in conjunction with comparable positions and other cities up and down the coast.” “Lifeguard salaries here are well within the norm of other city employees.” And therein is the problem: Local public worker pay has become all too generous and out of line with private sector equivalents.
On face, the compensation packages for these guards are staggering. But take into consideration the retirement benefits being paid to currently retired lifeguards and lifeguards who will retire at these pay levels in the future and the problem is further compounded. Lifeguards are able to retire with 90 percent of their salary, after only 30 years of work at as early as the age of 50.
A YouTube video created by Americans for Prosperity-California, an education advocacy organization concerned with limited government, lower taxation, and free-market principles, outlined how in Newport Beach a “recently retired lifeguard, age 51, receives a government retirement of over $108,000 per year for the rest of his life.” The video also notes that “He will make well over $3 million in retirement if he lives to age 80!”
The Newport Beach City Council – as well as other beach cities – ought to take a hard look at reforming the pay scale and compensation for lifeguards as well as the way in which the department is organized. This is a reasonable starting point for applying some fiscal sanity to public employee compensation.

Gotta love the Big Apple Circus

So yesterday my wife and I head to the circus. I wasn't expecting to see an archery performance like none other. If you are sitting around on a weekend maybe you can try something like this. No, it wasn't a Cameron Hanes like attempt at a target way over 100 yards out, it wasn't that far away but.....

I was totally amazed. Unbelievable ability.

Here is Elayne Kramer getting it done.

Elayne Kramer, a sixth-generation circus performer from Argentina, started practicing contortion and hand balancing at the age of four and gave her first performance at age seven. She has performed in ten of the most renowned international circus festivals in the world, where she has consistently placed among the top three finalists. She has appeared on television and in print publications, including USA Today, People Magazine, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Good Morning America. She has performed in various charity events, including a 2011 benefit show with fellow artists for survivors of the tsunami in Japan. This benefit inspired a series of Japanese postage stamps, which include Elayne, in honor of the performers. At only twenty years old, Elayne is a world-class performer, and she looks forward to improving and performing for many more audiences around the world.

Super Bowl XVLII, my take.....

Watching Eli Manning and his beauty of a bride speaking to the wounded warriors on the field pre-game was a great thing.   They had great seats but must have moved to a private box in the 2nd quarter.

Why no one brings binoculars to sporting events is beyond me.  Do they think they don't "look good"?   At the Super Bowl,  where anybody who is anybody in the world of the NFL is making the scene it is imperative to have them to see in all the private boxes and the antics going on down on the field.  Why the optics companies won't advertise their goods is beyond me.  There is a huge market there.

When the power went out I thought the thing to do would have been to suspend beer sales until it came back on.    Although I was in a suite I checked to make sure the door would close in case the entire stadium went black.  It could have gotten very ugly very fast.

Buzz Aldrin has a hot wife.  I know that she isn't the wife he started out with but she is his current trophy.   Thank you for your service Buzz, thank you for bringing home some rocks and thank you for the eye candy!

The Ravens cheerleaders were really great.  The precision and strength was stunning.  Man, were they ever in great shape.    And great eye candy as well.

The 49'ers deserved to get beat.  If you ever get a chance to watch the replay of the 2nd half kick-off I suggest you share it with anyone who understands hubris on a playing field.  These clowns were dancing to the rap music like M.C. Hammer prior to breaking their special teams huddle to kick-off.  Talk about not having their head in the game, they had it in the dance moves and rap music playing so loud.  To watch a guy go 109 yards was a thing of beauty and hell, I was cheering for the Niners!

The NFL needs to work on getting people out of the stadiums alittle better.  They spend so much effort on keeping the riff-raff away from the stadium that they should pull some of the fencing down to allow a faster exit.   It could have been a dangerous situation coming out of the Super Dome with so much humanity so crunched together.

It was nice to see the thug, Mr. Lewis, miss some tackles on the biggest stage of all.

The heat in the stadium rose quickly after the A/C went off with the power outage.  I thought at first it was a case of sabotage, somebody just sending a message that they hacked into the power grid and shut things down.  Probably the real story will remain hidden and only known to the City Fathers of New Orleans.   Maybe it was just a rat, a big one at that.

I have been to NOLA a bunch and the stench and lack of initiative galls me every time.   Tossing nearly $200,000,000,000 at New Orleans after Katrina was not taxpayer money well spent.  But who really cares these days about taxpayers?

Rural LA is a poster child for SNAP benefits.  It's ugly out there outside of NOLA for sure.    Generational welfare gone wild.  Ugly for LA, ugly for America.    Probably not a father in sight but they sure drive some chromed-out wheels!

Dan Marino wasn't wearing his wedding ring?  I wonder why?    LOL

The play-calling on first and goal from the 7 was ugly as well.   Al Molde where are you?   Send Colin left, send Colin right,  send Colin up the middle, send Colin outside.  Let the kid freelance and maybe just a few more times during the game try to work Randy Moss into the offense.   Geez.   Where do I sign on this contract now?

All in all it was New Orleans.  The T & A on Bourbon Street was alive and well.   The beads were being begged for and they were showing them.  What's not to like on a Super Duper orgy of parties and football worship on the first weekend in February?
