Go get 'em son.............

Dear Jordan,

Today we get a taste of big time football!   After putting some licks on Dad last night I know you are ready.
Just a couple of things.   Keep your spirits high out there.  If you get beat shake it off.  It happens to the best safeties.  Get on to the next play with your head up and wheels ready.  Show some leadership and keep those guys fired up.  Your voice will carry and if you see something that might give the offensive play away to the defense let the defense know.

A good surgeon knows his way around the operating room in the dark.   You need to get into the end zone of that stadium and look over the area.  Know the colors of the end zone lines, look at the sideline obstacles that might get in your way, just be familiar with what is there.   Your job keeping them out of the end zone needs to be done every time we play away at an unfamiliar field.
I hope you have a lot of fun out there.  Savor it and say a prayer or two or three thanking our Maker for your health and safety.

And most of all, remember all it has taken to get you out there.  The sacrifices that were made, the time, the tremendous commitment you made to become a better football player every practice, every game, every year.
We love you son.  Can’t wait for tonight!

Love,
Dad
