If you are looking for something to do this weekend here are a couple of thoughts.
Buy the Michael Lewis book, FLASH BOYS. Read it. You will have done what about 90% of Wall Streeters haven't done. Hell most advisors who manage money don't do much reading. Few pay for the Wall Street Journal or Investors Business Daily or the Financial Times.
Very few.
Second, if you get bored reading the definitive piece on the crime scene they call the stock market then watch THE BIG SHORT. Great movie. I have lost track of how many times I have watched it and called out the mortgage brokers, real estate agents, bankers, appraisers and everyone else who was at the feeding trough.
Learn about 2008. Think about the shit storm that the FED has induced and the government debt that is piling up exponentially.
Math still works boys and girls. Compounding works for you or against you.
The train wreck is going to happen again and sooner rather than later. Don't be the last person holding stocks. 2008 was an appetizer for the next debacle. Think. Just think. And remember the great words uttered by the famous trader Jesse Livermore. Take them to heart. He said, "The average man doesn't want to be told it is a bull market or bear market. What he wants is to be told specifically what particular stock to buy or to sell. He does not wish to work. He doesn't even wish to have to think."
