The great field agents who worked with my Dad on so many Indian Reservations would not recognize the FBI senior management and their policies in 2022. In fact, the retired FBI agents I know don't recognize the Bureau they once worked for.
The FBI playbook is rather simple these days.
1. Target your political enemies
2. Decline to comment on current investigations
3. Leak to the media and leak some more
4. Redact everything in your possession
5. Get caught lying
6. Keep your job. Get promoted
7. Rinse. Repeat. Retire
