The 80's

Be honest.   Admit it.

The 1980s should be a tourist destination.

Timing is everything.  When I left Minnesota for San Diego in 1979 the temperature was about 30 degrees below zero. It was a long drive.  Saying goodbye to my grandparents' was a tough one.  Shed tears from Hancock, MN to Sioux Falls, SD!  Non-stop.

In 1984, one of the people who helped me get to the Drexel Burnham Lambert office in LaJolla, California was Cynthia Ekberg Tsai.  With an ocean view, migrating whales, and plenty of beauty it was a superb location to work and play.

She made the call to get me an interview.

Forever grateful.  Thank you, Cynthia.

I believed that I could, so I did,  I had no handouts.  No rich parents.  No assistance.  No favors.

Straight ambition.  Straight hunger.  Straight hustle.
