A week ago I dropped by to see some neighbors who live a couple miles away to tend to some business. They had lost their long-time pet dog and had told me what it looked like. It was blind and deaf, two conditions for lost dogs in rural Montana that don't lend much help to making it home alive with so many predators.
Today, a week later, myself and my friend CAM HOLT from Bozeman, MT who owns PRIMAL Meat & Fish in Bozeman were motoring down the Yellowstone River after a productive morning of catching fish; bass, sauger and catfish, and spotted a dog that was on the river bank under about a 10 foot cliff. We were able to get to the dog, Cam had to half undress to get in the water and retrieve the dog and get it into the boat. We called the owner to meet us with dog food and the rest is history!
